What they are

Dimensional letters give your brand real depth.

Dimensional letters are individually cut, three-dimensional letters and logos that mount to a wall or building face instead of being printed flat. Because each letter stands off the surface with real thickness, it catches light and throws a shadow. That is the finish you see on banks, law offices, medical practices, and corporate lobbies, and it reads as a business that is established and here to stay.

We design, fabricate, and install every set ourselves. You pick the material and finish, we cut and build the letters in our Hahira shop, and our crew mounts them level and on layout. One team owns the whole job, so the spec you approve is exactly what ends up on the wall.

Materials

Dimensional letter materials, and where each one fits.

The right material comes down to where the letters live, how long they need to last, and the finish you are after. Here is how the common options compare.

Cut aluminum & metal

Plate aluminum, stainless, and brushed or polished metal cut on our CNC. The go-to for exterior facades and high-end lobby walls that need to shrug off weather and hold an edge for years.

Acrylic

Cast acrylic in clear, frosted, or color-through, painted to match your brand. Thicker acrylic gives a substantial edge and a clean face, which is why it reads so well on a reception wall.

PVC (Sintra)

Expanded PVC is light, paints beautifully, and comes in a range of thicknesses. A cost-effective choice for interior letters and logos where the letter does not have to fight the weather.

HDU foam

High-density urethane routed thick for depth, then hard-coated and painted. It carries the presence of a carved sign for monuments and feature walls without the weight of solid metal.

Faux and plated finishes

Brushed, mirror, painted, and metallic-plated faces let an acrylic or PVC letter look like solid bronze or stainless at a fraction of the cost and weight.

Illuminated builds

Face-lit and halo-lit letters built as shallow channel letters with LEDs inside, so the letter itself becomes the light after dark.

Mounting

How dimensional letters mount.

The mount sets the look and the difficulty of the install. We pick it with you based on the wall surface, whether the letters are lit, and how clean you want the finish.

Flush / stud mount

Threaded studs on the back of each letter drop into a drilled pattern and sit tight to the wall. The cleanest look for a solid, permanent install.

Standoff (spaced) mount

The letter floats off the wall on hidden spacers, throwing a soft shadow behind it. This is the finish that makes a lobby logo look premium.

Raceway mount

Letters mount to a single painted bar that carries the wiring and studs. Handy on brick, EIFS, or when you want one clean line of penetrations instead of many.

Tape / rail mount

For interior letters, high-bond tape and a level rail set the layout fast with no visible hardware and no holes in a finished wall.

Lit or unlit

Illuminated dimensional letters.

Dimensional letters can be built to light up. Face-lit letters glow through the front for classic storefront visibility. Halo-lit (reverse-lit) letters throw a soft ring of light onto the wall behind them for an upscale, architectural look. Non-illuminated letters skip the wiring and lean on shadow and finish instead.

Lit letters that face the weather are built as shallow channel letters with LEDs and a sealed return. For exterior signs, we handle the electrical permit and coordinate the power, then set the letters on a raceway or flush to the wall depending on the building.

Where they work

  • Building facades and storefronts
  • Reception and lobby walls
  • Monument and entrance faces
  • Conference and feature walls
  • Retail and showroom interiors
  • Office suites and directories

Lead time & install

From artwork to mounted, on your wall.

Most non-illuminated dimensional letters are ready within a couple of weeks of approved artwork and a confirmed layout. Illuminated letters take a little longer for fabrication and wiring, and exterior installs can add time for permitting. We measure the wall, build a mounting pattern, and install the set level so it lines up clean from across the room or across the parking lot.

Not sure which material or mount is right? Tell us the wall, the setting, and the look you want, and we will spec it and quote it with a firm timeline before anything is cut.

Questions

Dimensional letters, frequently asked.

Dimensional letters are individually cut, three-dimensional letters and logos that mount to a wall or building face, rather than being printed flat. Because they stand off the surface with real thickness, they catch light and cast a shadow, which reads as a permanent, established business instead of a temporary sign.

The common materials are cut aluminum and metal, acrylic, expanded PVC (Sintra), and HDU foam, each in a range of thicknesses and finishes. Metal and thick acrylic suit exteriors and high-end lobbies, while PVC and foam are cost-effective for interior letters and logos. We help you match the material to the setting, the budget, and how long the letters need to last.

It depends on the wall and the look you want. Flush stud mounting sits the letters tight to the surface, standoff mounting floats them off the wall for a shadow gap, and raceway mounting puts everything on one painted bar for a cleaner install on brick or irregular surfaces. Interior letters can also be set with high-bond tape and a rail so there is no visible hardware.

Most non-illuminated dimensional letters are ready within a couple of weeks of approved artwork and a confirmed layout. Illuminated face-lit or halo-lit letters take a little longer because of the fabrication and wiring, and exterior installs may add time for permitting. We give you a firm timeline with your quote before anything is built.
